Squad Swimming

      Have you considered Nepean Aquatic Centre Swim Squads?
         
        To swim in these competitive squads:

      • You must become a member of Nepean Aquatic Centre Swim Club**
      • You must attend the suggested swimming meets as specified by our coaches.
      • Fees are payable monthly by Direct Debit and are processed in the 1st week of each month.
      • Contact our Head Coach, Jackie Barck on 0411 446 018 for the latest squad timetables and session details for all of our squad levels.

        Mini Squad:
        This squad is provided for junior swimmers who have advanced from our Learn to Swim program, who are competent in all four (4) swimming strokes and who are keen to advance in the sport to learn about competitive swimming. A minimum of two (2) pool sessions per week is recommended.

        Bronze Squad:
        This squad is provided for junior swimmers who have advanced from the Mini Squad and who have achieved qualifying times to compete at District Championships or who are keen to pursue qualification to compete at this level of competition or higher. A minimum attendance of three (3) pool sessions and participation in Friday afternoon dry land balance and co-ordination session is recommended per week.

        Silver Squad:
        This squad is provided for age group swimmers who have achieved qualifying times to compete at District Level; Metropolitan and/or State Age Championships OR for swimmers that are capable of maintaining the level of training expected and who are keen to pursue qualification to such level of competition. A minimum attendance of five (5) pool sessions and participation in at least one (1) strength and conditioning session is recommended per week. Atmosphere Health & Fitness Club membership group strength sessions will be offered when regular swim sessions are being attended and development of the athlete advances.

        Junior Gold Squad:
        This squad is offered to age group swimmers who are actively engaged in competition and striving to achieve qualifying times to compete at State Age; State Open; National Open Water &/or National Age events. A mature and responsible attitude towards training is expected with a minimum attendance of six (6) pool sessions and at least two (2) strength; cardio and flexibility dry land sessions per week. Atmosphere Health & Fitness Club membership is recommended for attendance at specific group strength; spin / CXWorx; yoga & balance sessions.

        Gold Squad:
        This squad is provided for highly competitive swimmers who have achieved qualifying times to compete at State Open; National Open Water &/or National Age events. A high level of commitment will be expected. A responsible attitude towards training is required at a minimum of seven (7) pool sessions and three (3) strength; cardio and flexibility dry land sessions per week. Atmosphere Health & Fitness Club membership is recommended for attendance at specific group strength; spin / CXWorx; yoga & balance sessions. Training schedules are varied according to the seasonal timetable and competition calendar.

        Open Squad:
        This squad is for competitive swimmers who have achieved qualifying times to compete at Open/Age National Championships. A very high level of commitment will be expected in this squad. All specified pool and gym sessions are expected to be attended.

        Distance Squad and Junior Triathlon Squad:
        Specific distance sessions are offered to competitive swimmers who have achieved qualifying times to compete in distance freestyle events at Age State or who compete in open water events. Junior triathletes who are keen to advance their swimming skills are invited to join these specific sessions. A component of this training will be held at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, Penrith.

        **Nepean Aquatic Centre Swim Club offers an opportunity for swimmers of all ages and abilities to swim recreationally and/or competitively and strive to achieve their personal best, with an emphasis on participation and self-development, offering all levels of coaching through to international representatives. 

        Club swimming provides:

      •  The opportunity to practice racing skills against other swimmers of similar ability in a non-threatening, friendly environment
      • Social interaction with people of similar interests
      • Improved confidence through participation in Australia’s leading Olympic and Paralympic sport
